Design an assessment tool to replace one that failed validation
You are an Assessment Developer in Learning Design and Resources.
What has happened
Validation of the working effectively in the VET sector unit found major changes were required because knowledge questions referenced superseded standards and the observation component did not gather sufficient evidence of workplace practice. A quick fix was released as version 4.0 but the Learning Design Manager wants a properly designed tool, with a mapping document, assessor instructions, marking guide and reasonable adjustment guidance, validated before the February cohort. The validation report and the current tool are available, and the Lead Assessor has asked that the new tool be trialled with two assessors before the November validation.

Evidence guide
Check the mapping for complete coverage with no requirement assessed only once where the unit demands more, and check that knowledge questions reference current requirements in words. The marking guide must let two assessors reach the same decision. Adjustment guidance must protect the integrity of the unit. The tool must directly answer each validation finding.
