Validation session 22 September, assessing competence

The validation panel for the assessing competence unit meets on Tuesday 22 September from 9:30 am in the Footscray boardroom. Validators must have reviewed the tool and the sample before the session. Trainers who assessed learners in the sample are welcome to attend the feedback session at 3:00 pm but must not take part in the review.

Professional development: the current standards in practice

A four-hour workshop on applying the Standards for Registered Training Organisations 2025 to daily training and assessment practice runs on Friday 2 October at Footscray and online. It counts toward your training and assessment professional development hours. Register through the Training Manager by 25 September.

Industry currency evidence due for renewal

Six trainers have industry currency evidence in the trainer matrix that is older than two years or will be by the November allocation. You cannot be allocated to a unit without current evidence. Please upload recent industry work, placement, forum or professional development evidence to your matrix record by 30 September.

Student identifier support drop-in

Student Services runs a drop-in session every Wednesday from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm to help learners create or locate their unique student identifier and provide identity documents. Trainers, please remind learners who have not yet verified their identifier that they cannot receive a statement of attainment without one.

Employer advisory group, term four

The employer advisory group meets on Thursday 15 October at the Bendigo campus to review the individual support and hospitality strategies and to hear from employers about graduate readiness. Learning designers and trainers of those programs are expected to attend. Outcomes will be recorded in the industry engagement register.
