Principles of assessment
The requirement that assessment be fair, flexible, valid and reliable.
Reasonable adjustment
A change to how a learner demonstrates competence that does not change what they must demonstrate.
Recognition of prior learning
An assessment process that credits a learner's existing skills and knowledge against a unit without requiring them to complete training.
Unique student identifier
The national reference number every learner must hold and verify before a statement of attainment or qualification can be issued.
Industry currency
Evidence that a trainer's or assessor's vocational skills and knowledge reflect current workplace practice.
Self-assurance
The systematic way an organisation monitors its own performance against the standards and improves before problems become non-compliance.
