Industry Engagement Register
v1.9
Purpose. This register records every industry consultation and the way its outcomes were used in training and assessment strategies, resources and trainer currency.
1.Purpose
The standards require training and assessment to be informed by engagement with industry, employers and the community. This register is the evidence that engagement happened and, just as importantly, what the Institute did with it. It is maintained by the Industry Engagement Manager and reviewed by the quality committee each quarter.
2.What is recorded
Each entry records the date, the organisation and representative, the method, the programs discussed, the advice received and the action taken. Advice that was considered but not adopted must be recorded with the reason.
- Employer advisory group meetings
- Site visits and workplace observations
- Surveys of employers and graduates
- Industry body forums and conferences
- Feedback on draft strategies and tools
- Placement and practicum host feedback
3.Linking to strategies
Every training and assessment strategy must reference at least two register entries from the previous twelve months that informed it. The Learning Design Manager must cite the entries in the strategy register record.
4.Trainer currency
Trainer participation in industry engagement is recorded here and may be used as industry currency evidence in the trainer matrix.
5.Retention
Register entries are kept for the life of the strategy they informed plus two years.
